  7. Criminal Convictions: Must not have convictions for criminal activities, including those related to Child Protection and PSEAH (Preventing Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment).
  8. Pacific Secondary School Scholarship Program (PSSSP) Recipients: Those who completed their secondary school education in Australia in the year prior under PSSSP are eligible to apply for a long-term Australia Award.
  9. Program Area Criteria: Applicants should meet any specific criteria established by the Program Area or the government of their country of citizenship. For example, having worked a certain number of years in an appropriate sector.
  10. Educational Level: Should not be applying for a scholarship for a course of study at a lower academic level than they have already achieved. For instance, applying for a Master’s scholarship when they already hold a PhD.

Award Conditions:

  1. Contract Agreement: If applicants are selected for an Australia Awards Scholarship, they must sign a contract with the Commonwealth of Australia. This contract states that they agree to follow all the rules and conditions of the scholarship.
  2. Post-Scholarship Residency: After completing their scholarship, scholars are obligated to leave Australia for a minimum of two years. If they fail to comply with this condition, they will be responsible for repaying the total cost of their scholarship.
